Rock 'n' Roll music started to develop in the 1940 and transformed into the variant we still know today in the first half of the fifties. Notable representatives of such music were Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Bill Haley & His Comets, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Berry, which influenced numerous musicians with a mixture of music from different cultures.

A great revival of this popular music genre occured in the late seventies with Stray Cats, The Polecats, Blue Cats and Robertom Gordon, whereas today Rock'n'Roll is being preserved by bands such as The Bosshoss, Hillbilly Moon Explosion, KIm Lenz & the Jaguars and others.
